During the Spring Festival, Chinese people’s reunion dinner must include liquor. On February 19th, 2024 (Monday), BC Mandarin School successfully organized a study tour to the Chinese Time-honored Liquor Museum to explore the origin and brewing methods of liquor.
First, everyone learned about the origin legend of wine. Then, watched the wine vessels of various dynasties in China. The evolution from bold large wine vessels to exquisite small wine glasses turned out to be because the alcohol content increased and people could not drink as much. It was so interesting.
Then, the study tour group visited the "big wine vat" popular in the Qing Dynasty and learned the origin of the name "二锅头èr guō tóu". Among the impressive places where wine is stored, the term "海量hǎi liàng /great capacity of wine" is derived from the "酒海jiǔ hǎi / sea of wine", which is very interesting.
最后最令人惊喜的环节是品酒,讲解员介绍了不同类型的白酒的品尝方法、味道区别,一些酒量大的团员一口气干了,正好实践了BC老师分享的酒桌文化。
During lunch time, the study tour group checked in the Michelin Sichuan cuisine and tasted authentic Chinese food. We look forward to see more friends participating in BC BC Mandarin School’s cultural study tour and enjoying the interesting culture!
